MUMU encounter

Last Week, I went to Cait’s place to chill and watch a movie. But we decided to go out and hunt for the best fitness center for us. Yeah! It’s about time for me to hit the gym and burn those carbs away and lose some weight. My summer vacation made my tummy bigger! Hate it… grrrr….

On that rainy afternoon, the two of us walked around Timog Ave., searchin’ and inquiring for gym memberships. Another bonding moment for us! And a double purpose trip…sightseeing for prospects! Hahahaha

We found quite a few, fantastic and nice gyms but oh soo expensive. It’s like you’re goin to enroll for the major fitness centers in the town.

It is already nighttime when we finally reached our last destination, the one located near Timog Avenue and Tomas Morato. They cater good spa services and they also have gym facilities!

“Yipee!” our initial reaction! But wait, there’s more (TV ad?!!!)

As we check the whole place, a big creepy thing happened to us! Here’s the scary story.
I was in the 5th floor of the building, waiting in the lobby for Cait. She went inside the wet area to look around. Few minutes passed by, Cait is still inside. It’s ok because I’m enjoying the aroma that I smell while I’m standing in between the stained glass door and the elevator. The whole building is like piped with burning lily and rose oils. Relaxing, until a “girl” dressed in a blue scrub suit came down from the stairs beside the elevator. “She” climbed down from 6th floor, the Men’s VIP. “She” looked at me and stared at the down button for the elevator. I ignored her. When “she” was around and just stand in front of the elevator buttons, the good aroma went out. I still ignored it.

Few minutes past by again before Cait came out of the room. We chitchat for a while and the “girl” is still standing and staring in the elevator’s button so Cait decided to press it. We’re on our way to the second floor. Caitlin came in first, me, and then the “girl”. I pressed the 2nd floor button and the “girl” didn’t ask over on what floor she’s heading so I thought she’s also going to the same floor. I was standing and blocking the elevator keys and Caitlin is in front of me. The “girl” is in the far corner end of the elevator. Imagine the usual locations of ghosts in an elevator…YES! You’re right. She is standing there silently while the two of us are buzzing about what am I goin to see in the “MENS WET AREA!” hahaha

Caitlin and I noticed that our elevator trip is such a long one. There are only 5 floors and few guests inside the building, so what’s making it too long. I looked at the screen where the arrow going down and on what floor we are already in can be seen. And guess what, All I saw was (down)00 or ¯ 9 or ¯XX... wahhh then the elevator doors opened. There are no stained glass doors like in the 5th and all we can see was all white wall and flashing bulb lights. It’s really getting bewildering.

“2nd floor na ba ito?” I said, looking confused and crept out!
The “girl” alights first and we thought we are in the 2nd floor.
We’re about to follow her but she murmured,
“Hindi pa kayo dito.. Ground Floor Ito…”
“ahh ganun ba?!” we replied, then went inside the lift again.

As the door closes, both of us looked blankly at each other. WTF!
“bakit siya nauna bumaba?” I said.
“honga eh! Baka emergency! Baka may video dito sa elevator or something...” said by cait.
“hmmm baka nga…”

We just made those scientifically wrong ideas for us not to get scared and hysterical. The 2nd floor button is still highlighted, which means we never been in 2nd floor. And at our surprise, the elevator brought us back to the 5th floor! Whoah! Now that is something. We tried to close the elevator doors for six times but it wouldn’t so we decided to use the stairs. We ran as fast as we can until we reached the real 2nd floor. We went inside swiftly and had a nippy tour. I don’t care anymore on what am I going to see inside the place. Although exciting, all I want is to get out of the bloodcurdling building.

We asked few staffs in the 2nd floor and in the main ground floor main desk about the elevator. Is it malfunctioning or something? Just to clarify our doubting minds and also report to them that we got stuck inside of it. Their answers are totally farfetched.
The funniest answer was,
“ginagawa po kasi ung third floor, under renovation. Baka napipindot lang po…” what?

After receiving mind-boggling answers, we finally went out of the building. Still have Goosebumps on our body and profoundly scared.

Facts that made us believe that we encountered a spirit:

1. The “girl” never touched anything. Remember, she didn’t even press any buttons on which floor “she’s” going.
2. There is a wacky feeling when she arrived. A heavy one. It’s like happiness were sucked out from us.
3. If she were a staff there, why would “she” say that she alighted at the ground floor? There is only one ground floor and she should know the whole building.
4. Renovations on the 3rd floor? Huh? No one will work for construction in the evening. Passed 8pm? Come on!
5. The faces of the staffs went blunt and scared when we asked about the elevator.. whooooo!

It’s really a scary, hair-raising adventure for us! Have you tried one yet?
